Green, Blue and Red Gun Club Check Sportcoat

A winter wool, but not tweed - this cloth is yet another option, in between lightweight Italian blends and rugged British tweeds. We made this sportcoat from dense, heavy wool with a silky hand: a fabric that’s hard-wearing yet pleasant to wear.

The pattern is a classic gun club check pattern, mixing a fine olive-green-and-navy small scale pattern with a bold red-burgundy windowpane overcheck. Despite all the British connections, the cut, however, stays light and closer to Italian tailoring tradition, with natural shoulders, patch pockets, and a soft half-canvas construction, as we like to do it at Poszetka.

Such sportcoat works equally well in classic outfits - with corduroy, a wool challis tie, and brogues - as in more modern everyday combinations, with jeans, a chambray shirt, and more casual shoes.
