The quality of the handwork and the fabric are among the best I've seen. The description and photos on the website may it look like an unlined tie, but tie is actually lined with wool and and canvas. It's just the end that is untipped. So the tie is quite solid, and the knot will be somewhat thicker than you will get with an unlined tie.
All in all, an excellent purchase at a very reasonable price. For a shantung tie (and therefore casual tie) I would have preferred it to be unlined, or at least a little softer. But lined ties do soften with use, so it's too early to tell.
