Gray and Black Houndstooth Harris Tweed Sportcoat

Another Harris Tweed sportcoat in our collection this season - as you may have noticed, we have a soft spot for tweeds with a more “urban” character; those that keep the texture, weight, and sturdiness of classic tweed, but evoke city streets and a cool, modern color palette rather than moors, castles and the British Country style.

This time, we chose a fabric that blends grey with hints of black, in a fine houndstooth pattern - a calmer alternative to traditional checks and one of our favorite designs. The fabric has substantial weight, yet we tailored the jacket lightly, in a more “Italian” style: with natural shoulders, no padding, patch pockets and a 3-roll-2 button front.

In the spirit of modern tweed, it’s best worn in contemporary combinations - like those with KLEMAN shoes or black loafers; denim in various shades or flannel trousers; loose OCBDs or workshirt-style shirts. It also pairs beautifully with black - black trousers and accessories highlight its urban character especially well.
