Black 14.2 oz HBT POSZ-53 Trousers

POSZ-53 is our tried-and-true cut, inspired by one of the most versatile military designs from the US Army – the rare P-53 – which forms the foundation of the trouser line in our more casual Working Class collection.

We wear these trousers not only in outfits inspired by workwear aesthetics but also with sportcoats, sweaters, and shirts in simple everyday combinations – in the Everyday Classic style; treating “those other classics” according to the maxim workwear of the past, for the labour of today.

They’re an alternative to chinos, in a slightly more workwear-inspired style: the cut is simple (flat front, belt loops, side seam pockets) and comfortable (high rise, wider leg), but not boring (patch back pockets, metal buttons). These trousers are all about comfort and durability – that’s why, just like the original model, we make them from cotton HBT (herringbone twill) fabrics, which, thanks to their dense and sturdy weave, were historically used in both workwear and military uniforms.

For the black variant, we went with a truly heavyweight HBT – a 14.2 oz fabric from Japan Blue (a bit heavier than our denim!), which, just like black denim, will develop a beautiful patina over time. We left it raw (aside from sanforization), unwashed and unaged – at first, these trousers will be stiff, softening and molding to the wearer with every wear and every wash. This is a piece built to last!
