Barbour Bedale Rustic

There are classics that don’t need to be reinterpreted or improved; classics that are perfect just the way they are – and Barbour jackets belong exactly in that category. For years they have been considered the benchmark for waxed rainproof jackets, which is why this season Poszetka’s collection is complemented by a range of models from this maker. Importantly, only from their classic line of the brand, which is still produced in the UK.

The Bedale is a model from 1980, originally designed with horseback riding in mind. It is shorter and a bit roomier than the Beaufort, which makes it best suited for more casual outfits without a jacket. It has retained all of Barbour’s characteristic details – including the corduroy collar, buttoned pockets, and underarm ventilation eyelets. We chose the Rustic color, a dark, deep, rather cool shade of brown that not only pairs beautifully with earth tones but also works with black and the “urban” gray-and-navy palette.

Today, such a jacket can still be worn in the classic British spirit, with Shetland sweaters and tweeds – but also in a more contemporary way, e.g. with jeans and workshirts from our Working Class label. Waxed cotton in a dark shade also goes well with bolder accessories in brighter colors that help to break up the character of the outfit!
