French Blue HBT Workwear Jacket
A summer collection wouldn’t be complete without a casual jacket or overshirt in blue. Just like the navy blazer is a staple in classic tailoring, iconic French work jackets hold their place in workwear – and gradually found their way into everyday wardrobes.
We used the proven Japanese HBT (herringbone twill) cotton with a pronounced weave and weight that makes it ideal for year-round wear – this time dyed into the lively shade of blue that immediately brings bleu de travail to mind, reflecting the spirit of a different kind of classic that defines the Working Class collection, heavily inspired by the workwear of the past, reinterpreted for today’s needs. The cut is rooted in work jackets, with a raglan sleeve for added comfort, three outer patch pockets (plus two inside) and a proper length. Simple and functional – designed to work both as a jacket and a layering piece.
In the spring and summer season, it is a piece that can substitute a sportcoat in the more casual sets - or just serve as an overshirt, a practical garment with many pockets that will come in handy in everyday wear. The saturated tone looks grat with light, pastel tones, but also pairs naturally with the tones often seen in workwear style: olive, beige, off-white, brown and mustard.
