White Flap Pocket OCBD Shirt
A white edition of our Flap Pocket OCBD Shirt, designed under the WWCCC ‘Working Class’ label. This is a more rugged, heavy-duty take on the classic OCBD - perfect for both traditional Ivy League looks (straight from the East Coast prep aesthetic) and Japanese-inspired rugged Ivy styling.
The fabric we chose is a thick, substantial Japanese oxford (note that its weight is listed per square meter – if you multiply it to get the linear meter equivalent, it comes out to nearly 250g, heavier than our casual oxfords from the base collection!). It has a pleasant hand and is guaranteed to soften over time, gradually molding to the wearer.
This shirt pays homage to classic Ivy Style OCBDs of the past, featuring a flap pocket cut that has been traditionally offered by some of the most iconic preppy clothiers. The unlined button-down collar has long points, completing the vintage-inspired look. Historically worn by both university professors and working-class individuals, such shirts have long stood as a truly egalitarian garment – today, whether your collar is white or blue, it’s simply a matter of personal style, free from any rigid cultural associations.
