Black Velvet Dinner Jacket

A black velvet jacket is an evening wear staple that draws heavily from classic black tie attire while offering a bit more versatility than a traditional tuxedo, if you wish to get creative with the styling.

The cut is classic and elegant as we’ve went for our favorite style: a low-cut double-breasted jacket with a 2x1 button configuration and a wide shawl collar. The buttons are covered in the same black velvet as the jacket itself, exactly as they should be. Thanks to the plush texture, the black color appears exceptionally deep.

As we suggested, this jacket can be styled in multiple ways - either adhering to the black tie dress code or deviating from it. Wear it to the opera or a more relaxed party; pair it with a shirt, bow tie, and black trousers with a piping… or come up with an entirely unexpected combination. It should also be said that velvet is inherently warm and pleasant to wear, so it would be an excellent choice for pairing with a turtleneck (ideally black or cream) - just imagine yourself wearing it for a New Year’s Eve celebration in the mountains or any other winter destination.
