Navy Ripstop Pleated Pants

Side adjusters, high-rise, single pleat, a dark shade of navy… executed in a tough, durable cotton with workwear and military provenance - all of this makes for quite an interesting mix. We probably shouldn’t say this out loud, but our friends and testers of the Working Class collection often call this pair their favorite trousers. There must be something to that, right?

Ripstop fabric is essentially a cotton material with a small visible check pattern, created by thicker yarns in the warp and weft, positioned at regular intervals - in this case, more or less every 0.5 cm. Originally, this fabric was designed as a reinforced material that would not tear easily (hence the name), even if cut or snagged. Today, we see it as an appealing microstructure that adds visual interest to an otherwise plain pair of trousers… with added durability as an extra benefit. A great example of the workwear of the past, for the labour of today philosophy we carry out in the series.

The Working Class series is made from durable fabrics designed to withstand the test of time. Apart from the denim, these are all unwashed and untreated - they start tough but soften with each wear. Depending on how you treat them, they will develop a unique patina and wear pattern.
