Gold Medallion Print Ancient Madder Silk Tie
With each autumn/winter season approaching, we find ourselves eagerly anticipating the moment we can finally reach for our long-time favorite ties - and among these, ancient madder silks hold a special place in our hearts.
As the name suggests, this is no ordinary silk. Thanks to a special production process, this uniquely smooth fabric type boasts a distinct, dry, and muted finish, with an almost rubbery hand. The fabric we use for our ties (sourced from one of the most traditional English mills!) is finished in the same genuine way as it was when the fabric was first conceived. Originally, the traditional dyeing method relied on dyes made from the roots of the Rubia tinctorum plant, limiting the palette to earthy, reddish tones. Today, modern dyeing techniques allow for a broader spectrum of colors, but a well-made, genuine ancient madder tie will always feature that characteristic, dusty color palette dominated by mustard golds, burnt browns, blues, and burgundies - hues that are hard to find anywhere else.
This type of tie pairs perfectly with anything from business classics to seasonal tweed sportcoats - wear it exactly the way you like it!
