Tomek’s Choices, FW2023

Tomek’s Choices, FW2023

We talked Tomek into some personal confessions, asking him to tell us something about his favorites from the Poszetka FW2023 collection and how he matches the new things with the worn and loved ones he already has had in his wardrobe for a long time.

Bonus: well-known “Mr. Poszetka” mirror selfies!

Modern History Teacher - Brown Checked Tweed Sportcoat

It’s been a love at first sight - this tweed from Lovat’s The Holm bunch was my first fabric choice when we were putting up the new collection. I was sure about it from the very beginning; it's one of those fabrics that scream "take me!" and we had no objections. It is mostly in earth colors - which I really like and feel good in - but thanks to the gray and blue accents in the mix, it goes well with basically everything.

In my outfit, I combined it with some archival pieces - a workwear-ish corduroy shirt and a yellow Wool Challis tie (from a few seasons back) - and current novelties: KLEMAN shoes (more on them later!) and Croco 1” belt. The jeans are a preview of our new model, which (hopefully) will debut at Poszetka early next year.

White Collar in Autumn - Navy Winter Blazer

Without going into too much detail and the behind-the-scenes logistics of our orders, I would like to mention that we had to fight for this cloth for quite a long time - but it was worth it. Made by one of our favorite mills, Marling & Evans, it is among the best blazer fabric options this season. Moreover, it is one of the choices that ended up in my wardrobe!

I like to wear it in a classic way, with gray trousers and a white flannel shirt (both also from our new collection). However, I tried to spice it up here with an orange houndstooth tie, custom made a long time ago from the leftovers of the upholstery fabric used for sofa in our living room - a true one-off! - paired with a Witkacy pocket square and matching orange socks. The cherry on top at the bottom is a pair of black longwings that didn’t make it into the picture but ties the whole outfit perfectly.

Après-ski in Donegal - Navy Flannel Shirt Albini

As I have already mentioned, I like to spice things up, especially when it comes to dark shades - and the ultimate spice for me is the salt-and-pepper texture of the Donegal Tweed (even if much more colorful), hence the trousers and jacket made such fabric from Magee. Both are from our previous collections, but I must admit that I am already channeling the next winter selection by wearing them! Also, I have to mention the purple Wool Challis tie here, a bestseller from one of our first collections - a true testament to the quality and a longevity of our accesories.

The key item here, around which the whole outfit is based, is my favorite shirt from the current collection, the one cut from a navy blue herringbone fabric from the Albini’s Après-ski bunch, a very pleasant, cashmere-touch blend of cotton and lyocell. The greens and purples of Donegal Tweed are accentuated by a Bauhaus-style pocket square, designed by yours truly - it is one of those squares that looks best folded in a pocket, not only when the whole pattern is visible. At the bottom: KLEMAN shoes again, actually boots, which are apparently the recommended choice for the streets of Katowice in the wintertime. ;)

Windsor Tan - Tobacco Cavalry Twill Trousers

What could be a sexier color name than the “Windsor Tan” if interpreted literally? This is my preferred choice of pants this fall. The Cavalry Twill bunch from Brisbane Moss, another solid workhorse, new to our collection, but not to my wardrobe - I have been wearing a different pair od trousers cut from this fabric for the last 2 years.

At the top, one of my navy blue jackets, worn with a Saint Michael the Archangel painting pocket square (which ultimately did not go into production - what a pity!) in the breast pocket. Additionally, striped bestsellers from previous years: a shantung tie and an OCBD shirt made of recycled cotton from Albini. And at the very bottom…

My new favorite shoes - KLEMAN Padror Marron

I admit, this outift was an excuse to smuggle another thing onto the list; the one that had only been briefly mentioned so far. Last but not the least, actually my very favorite - I like these KLEMANs so much! Ever since the first pairs arrived and I’ve tried them on, I couldn’t stop wearing them.

They are incredibly comfortable, even more so than my previous favorite, suede chukka boots. Apart from just a couple pairs of sneakers, I have never had more comfortable shoes in my life. Aditionally, these are city- and weatherproof; the thick rubber sole cushions your feet, gets you through puddles and does not require any care. What more can I say?
