Poszetka Staff Picks: December Selection

We’ve already mentioned that in December, our FW2024 collection is joined by a few new products. Among these, you will find our team’s favorites - and that’s exactly what today’s post is about. Listen to Tomek, Paweł, and Michał, who shared their picks with us.

In a team of enthusiasts, everyone is a tester - not just during the design, prototyping, and decision-making phases but also in styling. While lookbooks and studio sessions are one thing, some of the best ideas come to life right here in our Katowice showroom, sometimes in the form of simple, everyday outfits!

It so happens that each of the new major items debuting in December - a velvet blazer and two plaid shirts - has its own champion on the team. During a recent photo shoot, we asked each of them to create a winter outfit that will fit into the festive season theme and share a few thoughts about why they chose that particular item.

Tomek

For years, I had a negative association with checked shirts - I only wore plain or striped ones. Lately, that aversion has softened a bit. I even warmed up to some plaids while selecting fabrics! Then, one day, I got my hands on the prototype of this shirt. I grabbed it, tried it on, appreciated it, and finally decided - yes, this is it.

I’m glad we chose this cut, featuring two chest pockets with flaps. First, they break up the pattern nicely and add a cool, casual touch. Second, they’re practical, and yes, I use them regularly!

The guys dubbed this look “weekend dad,” and I don’t mind it (I do have three kids, after all!). But I also wanted to show that this shirt can be worn in a different way - layered underneath a sportcoat. Especially paired with jeans, it all just clicks together.

Paweł

A velvet tuxedo blazer is something my wardrobe was missing. Living near the opera in Bytom, I find myself wearing a tuxedo as often as a full suit. Such formal attire always makes an event feel special - and let’s be honest, it’s hard not to feel like a star in it!

However, I’ve struggled to repurpose a traditional tuxedo for other occasions. This is where velvet steps in, adding a touch of nonchalance. Pairing it with a black turtleneck is a way to go - at least for me! - and makes the jacket perfect for family gatherings, especially around the Christmas and New Year’s time. I’m also glad we introduced this model in the double- breasted 2x1 cut, which adds even more charm.

In the photos, I decided to showcase this jacket in two versions: classic opera-ready formal wear with a bow tie and tuxedo pants, and a more relaxed family-party look with a turtleneck. The latter feels more “me,” as I have a deep love for turtlenecks and minimalist aesthetics that make me feel fantastic. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Michał

Pairing a shirt with a turtleneck underneath might be controversial, but it always reminds me of the cozy, wintery vibes of Ralph Lauren’s lookbooks.

I must admit, this style resonates with me deeply. Wearing such outfits makes me feel comfortable, and - most importantly - it keeps me wonderfully warm. You can tell I’m someone who gets cold easily!

I was thrilled when we introduced this plaid shirt with green accents. First, it pairs perfectly with my green merino wool turtleneck. Second, it’s ideal for wearing during the pre-Christmas season. :)

Greetings from Katowice!
