Novesta GAT Brown Sneakers

These shoes have a simple design and a interesting backstory. Based on the military-issued GAT (German Army Trainers) sneakers originally designed for the German armed forces - the very model that was a predecessor to a few much-loved Adidas models. Designed in the 80s, they’ve been part of the fashion world since the 1990s - and still remain a great alternative to classic white sneakers, free of visible branding yet not too elegant-ish as some models try to be.

This particular model was made in Slovakia by Novesta and is based on their archival design. The most significant change is the upper – made entirely of natural suede in a beige shade, more discreet than the typical white of the GAT. Thanks to the contoured insole – a Novesta hallmark – these sneakers are incredibly comfortable.

They go with almost anything in a casual wardrobe. You can wear them with shorts, jeans, chinos, or linen trousers. They pair well with a T-shirt, shirt, knitwear, or a lightweight blazer - fitting right in with both simple everyday looks and more put-together outfits.
