'Furoshiki' Pocket Square
Japanese art is something we often find ourselves coming back to - this time we have taken the Japanese furoshiki wrapping cloth design cloth, traditionally used for carrying and wrapping items, and transferred the crane pattern onto the pocket squares. Designs like these often feature nature motifs - in this case, birds set against a rich red background in a distinctive, decorative style. It’s an example of Japanese applied art, where function meets aesthetics and attention to detail - and many years later, can find itself in a completely new context.
We made this pocket square from a delicate, matte fabric - a blend of cotton, modal and cashmere - that works equally well as a pocket square or as a small bandana tied around the neck. As with all our pocket squares, the edges are hand-rolled by our seamstresses locally in Katowice.
- Fabric: 78% cotton, 20% modal, 2% cashmere
