Glen Check 4-ply Wool Double-Breasted Suit

 This suit is part of our three-piece early spring capsule, united in fabric: resilient, matte, and wrinkle-resistant — one we first fell in love with during a previous edition of Milano Unica and thoroughly tested again at the most recent one.

It is cut from 4-ply wool woven by Lanificio Rogna, an Italian mill specializing in heavier fabrics with an open weave. “4-ply” refers to yarn twisted from four strands, which gives it greater elasticity and allows the fabric to spring back into shape with ease. The result is a cloth with substantial weight, yet woven in a breathable basketweave construction. Comfortable and truly year-round, it works perfectly as a so-called traveller suit — but also looks great, being beautifully matte, with a subtle texture that pairs easily with other fabrics.

The black-and-white Glen Check speaks for itself — especially in a double-breasted cut. The simplest and most reliable pairing is one that allows the pattern to take center stage: a crisp white shirt and a subdued tie. Alternatively, you can remove a tie and wear your shirt — white, denim or perhaps black — open, for a more casual summer set. It also works great when worn as separates: checked trousers look great with a classic navy blazer, while such jacket pairs naturally with dark-coloured matte wool trousers.
