Taupe 4-ply Wool Suit
It is cut from 4-ply wool woven by Lanificio Rogna, an Italian mill specializing in heavier fabrics with an open weave. “4-ply” refers to yarn twisted from four strands, which gives it greater elasticity and allows the fabric to spring back into shape with ease. The result is a cloth with substantial weight, yet woven in a breathable basketweave construction. Comfortable and truly year-round, it works perfectly as a so-called traveller suit — but also looks great, being beautifully matte, with a subtle texture that pairs easily with other fabrics.
The taupe color sits somewhere between warm grey and cool brown, enlivening the classic color palette. It looks particularly sharp with a blue shirt and a dark tie, but may also serve as a versatile canvas for further experimentation — perhaps in a more relaxed setting, paired with a polo or a knitted T-shirt, especially during the transitional season, while it’s still too cold for all linen.
Tomek: An earth-tone shade. The most subdued of the three, yet also the least obvious. Its strength lies in its subtlety: it balances between beige and grey, between cool and warm. It doesn’t dominate an outfit, but it defines it.
