Barbour Spey Olive

There are classics that don’t need to be reinterpreted or improved; classics that are perfect just the way they are – and Barbour jackets belong exactly in that category, having been considered the benchmark for waxed rainproof jackets for years now.

For our Early Spring collection, we have added a new model to our roster — one we fell in love with immediately: the Barbour Spey. It is one of the brand’s shorter and more distinctive styles, introduced in the 1980s as a jacket designed with fly fishing in mind. Noticeably shorter than the Beaufort or Bedale, it finishes at hip level and features a boxy silhouette that reminds us of a Harrington jacket without the ribbing, reimagined by Barbour and enriched with the brand’s signature details: a corduroy collar, sturdy zip fastening, tartan lining, and large, practical front pockets.

The Olive color a very dark shade of green is highly versatile. It pairs effortlessly with earthy browns, grays, navy, and black, while providing a beautiful contrast to lighter tones such as cream or beige.

It is an ideal jacket for the transitional season, especially for outfits without a tailored jacket, which it complements with a strong, confident accent. We don’t necessarily see it styled in the classic way with tweed or Shetland sweaters — in fact, we slightly prefer it in a thoroughly contemporary context, paired with jeans or even pleated trousers (preferably high-rise!), layered over a shirt, a T-shirt, or simply a sweatshirt.
