Gray Corduroy Flannel-Lined Jacket

This jacket is another piece in this year’s collection that sits somewhere between workwear and British Country influences — filtered, of course, through the Poszetka aesthetic and that of our casual Working Class line.

The inspiration for the cut came from practical styles of the past, particularly hunting jackets and barn coats, where freedom of movement came from a looser fit, practicality from generous pockets, and protection from the elements simply from substantial weight. Here, that weight comes from really heavy British corduroy (470g), in a cool, urban shade of gray rather than the usual brown or green. For extra warmth, both the body and sleeves are lined with a layer of thick, soft cotton flannel in a checked pattern.

Because of its weight, this jacket is much closer to proper outerwear than to a corduroy overshirt — and its cut allows you to wear it over a sportcoat as well, making it an excellent transitional-season alternative to a waxed Barbour.
