Barbour Border Olive

There are classics that don’t need to be reinterpreted or improved; classics that are perfect just the way they are – and Barbour jackets belong exactly in that category.

The Border model has been introduced in the early 1980s - around the time when well-known Bedale and Beaufort models also debuted. They all share a classic, looser cut, but are differentiated by length. Border is the longest of them all: even on taller people, it hits mid-thigh. It features classic set-in sleeves, unlike the raglan shoulders found on the other two, but retains all of the brand's hallmark details: mid-weight waxed cotton cloth, a corduroy collar, a two-way zip with a storm flap, tartan lining, and a full set of spacious pockets - including two deep, highly functional internal pockets.

The Olive - a deep, muted green - is the most legendary shade in Barbour’s archive. It pairs effortlessly with a full spectrum of earth tones, denim, and textured fabrics like tweed, flannel, and chunky knitwear, while serving as a natural bridge between grey, navy, and brown in city outfits.

Today, such a jacket can still be worn in the classic British spirit, with Shetland sweaters and tweeds – but also in a more contemporary way, e.g. with jeans and workshirts from our Working Class label. Thanks to its length, it layers perfectly over tailored outfits as well - both with sportcoats and suits.
