Barbour Bedale Sage
There are classics that don’t need to be reinterpreted or improved; classics that are perfect just the way they are – and Barbour jackets belong exactly in that category.
The Bedale is a model from 1980, originally designed with horseback riding in mind. It has retained all of Barbour’s characteristic details – including the corduroy collar, buttoned pockets, and underarm ventilation eyelets. This model is shorter than the Beaufort - on taller people it looks best in more casual outfits without a jacket, while on shorter guys it also works perfectly over a sportcoat.
The Sage color — a cool green closer to navy than brown — feels slightly more urban in character than most green tones on waxed cotton, blending naturally into the cityscape and its palette.
Today, such a jacket can still be worn in the classic British spirit, with Shetland sweaters and tweeds – but also in a more contemporary way, e.g. with jeans and workshirts from our Working Class label. Waxed cotton in a dark shade also goes well with bolder accessories in brighter colors that help to break up the character of the outfit!
