After a short break, we are back! We would like to present you our first episode of The Questionnaire we did with a foreign guest - welcome Jesse Burzminski, widely known as @burzanblog!
Author: Mateusz Tryjanowski & Poszetka.com + Jesse Burzminski
1. Tell us briefly about yourself. What do you do and what is your everyday life like?
I work full time for a telecommunications company here in Canada as an account manager. My days are spent meeting with clients to discuss and facilitate their business technology needs. Apart from that I spend the rest of my days with my family, which consists of my wife, 6 year old son, and 2 year old daughter.
2. How did you discover menswear and how did this journey begin?
This whole journey started probably about 7 years ago and began with footwear. I started browsing Styleforum in the Allen Edmonds thread and began purchasing from their factory seconds department. This was pretty much my gateway to menswear. After a few years of building up that aspect of my wardrobe I started slowly becoming more interested in tailored clothing. After a couple sport coats I was hooked.
3. How would you describe your everyday style? Do you have any particular style that you love and stick to?
I really like to stick to casual tailoring. Pairing sport coats and denim is quite common for me. I also like to stick to textured, casual cloths for my tailored pieces, cloths like hopsack and worsted wools don’t get a lot of love in my closet.
4. Your favourite piece of clothing?
Sport coats for sure. I love the way you can keep a very simple shirt and trouser collection and use the sport coats as the highlight of any outfit. I am up to probably 60 sport coats in my wardrobe now.
5. Your favourite, most worn pair of shoes?
My Alden unlined color 8 shell cordovan loafers, without a doubt.
6. The single favourite item in your wardrobe?
I recently purchased a sport coat in a Fox Brothers brown and green houndstooth, I like to call it my mint chocolate jacket and it’s quickly become a favourite in my wardrobe
7. The garment that you have been dreaming of, but still have not acquired?
Edward Green Piccadilly loafer in Dark Oak. I have been wanting this loafer for years and even bought it once on sale but the seller did not disclose it was a wide width and I had to return. I have been chasing a deal on it ever since.
8. Your biggest style icon and the biggest inspiration?
I honestly never really gravitated to anyone in particular. I like small aspects of a lot of peoples style and have sort of used that to develop what I like to wear.
9. Tell us three of your favourite, most inspiring (menswear related) Instagram accounts.
@stylejournaldaily - I will throw this account up there although he is no longer active. He really inspired me to start my sportcoat collection and helped me with cloth selections.
@lenn.castillo - Lenn really does a stellar job with muted, casual tailoring. Every look of his is always so effortless.
@thezanification - Zane never has an off day, every look is on point. It’s a pleasure following along and getting some inspiration from him. I know he’s the reason I started wearing double forward pleated trousers.
10. What makes you like Poszetka.com the most?
I am all about value and Poszetka has that in spades. Every item I’ve tried feels like it could easily be in a higher price category. Certainly now one of my favourite brands I’ve discovered in my time on Instagram.
11. Your favourite product from Poszetka.com range? What would you recommend in particular?
I am absolutely obsessed with my Marling & Evans tweed suit from this FW20 season, so I’ll have to say that is my current favourite. After recently trying the shirts out though I’d also highly recommend them as well, stellar fit and I love the collar roll on the button down recycled cotton shirt I have.
12. What are your hobbies apart from your job and the menswear world?
I am a fanatic of hip hop music. I follow along with new releases every week and and used to collect CDs (at one point owning nearly 2000). I have slowly been transitioning to collecting vinyl records but it’s a balance with my menswear hobby and the hobby budget.
Thank you Jesse for the talk. It was a pleasure!
